Selsdon Little Leagues was formed in 1991 by a group of men who all
wanted their children to play football, who otherwise might not have had the
opportunity at school. This chief founders were (local headmaster) Alan Profitt (who sadly died in
2002), Les White (Selsdon) and Mick Green (Greenvale).
Their ethos continues today.
Our Aims remain, "to provide sport for local children, irrespective of
ability".
Our most notable dates are:
13/9/1990 - Inaugural meeting
11/1990 - First trials
19/1/1991 - Selsdon Leagues (Senior & Bantams) start - half a season
played
9/1991 - Full Little League seasons start, including Greenvale Senior League
9/199x - Bantams League changed to 7-a-side, Greenvale Bantams League
formed
9/6/2001 - Our tenth anniversary, end of season presentations at "party in the
park"
9/2001 - 2 Girls teams formed,
Football moves from Selsdon rec to Sanderstead rec
20/9/2003 - GVS Girls Bantams League started (4 teams)
16/9/2006 - GVS Girls Bantam League upped to 6 teams, With full
league program.
23/10/2006 - Web Site Welcomes our 7000th. Hit
NOVEMBER 2007 - Web Site Welcomes our 10000th. Hit
